Answers: The Signature Program/LGW Class Year Experiences
How do I become a member of LGW?
Membership in LGW begins with the Class Experience, LGW?s Signature Program. Our 10-month program offers senior-level leaders a unique,
hands-on educational exploration of the Greater Washington region and examination of regional issues through in-depth discussion and
participation.
Applications are available in December of the previous year. Click here
for dates of upcoming informational sessions.
How are participants selected?
Individuals are selected based professional experience and community involvement; other factors taken into consideration to ensure that LGW
has a Class that accurately represents the Greater Washington region are geographic representation, job sector, ethnicity and gender.
How many participants are selected for each Class Year?
Between 50 and 55 participants are selected annually to participate in the Signature Program.
When are class members announced?
Class members are notified of their selection by mid-May. The new Class is introduced to the larger LGW membership at the Fall Kick-Off
Luncheon.
Sometimes great applicants aren't accepted due to the process of designing a class. Numerous members of LGW applied more than once before
being accepted. As many other of our members have found, the process of reapplying is worth it.
Tuition for the Signature Program is $6,250 which covers programming costs and includes one ticket to LGW's Annual Fall Kick-Off Luncheon.
Is tuition assistance available?
Tuition assistance is available for individuals; however no more than $5,000 is available per individual. LGW has received generous support
from The Philip L. Graham Fund, Freddie Mac Corporation and individuals to provide tuition assistance.
What happens after the Class Year?
Class members who successfully complete the Class Year are eligible to become active LGW members and become connected to the larger LGW
community with access to the top decision-makers in the region.
