  Strengthening the Bond Among the Region's Leaders

  Youth Leadership Greater Washington Youth Leadership Greater Washington (YLGW) is a six month, hands-on leadership development and community education program for high school sophomores and juniors within the Greater Washington region. Through this program, youth leaders are able to engage in in-depth discussions on regional issues including the arts, leadership, diversity, public safety, and health. They are able to visit venues around the region which are focused on improving our quality of life. Youth leaders have the opportunity to meet and learn from top regional leaders, such as WJLA Anchor Leon Harris and Special Agent George Piro, who served as a lead interrogator of Saddam Hussein. This program, held one day a month from January through June, transforms the way our youth engage in the region (with each other, with other leaders, with challenges the Greater Washington region faces) and view themselves as leaders.
